If you are looking for an outdoor activity that the pupils will enjoy and will support Curriculum for Excellence via the 4 Capacities while promoting Health and Well being then get in touch with us and we will put together a program that will tick all the boxes. We can give you skiing, snowboarding and also tubing. Whether it is a one off special day or a course of lessons in one of our activities or why not have the pupils experiencing the different sports and as a real treat finish off with a Tubing Session.
CPD For Staff - Bearsden Ski Club has experience of hosting Welfare Days/Team Building Sessions and if needed can offer a complete tailored programme of skiing/snowboarding/aromotherapy/massage/pilates/salsa/yoga and personal trainer. The photograph above is Notre Dame teachers having a blast on their team building day out!
Our Ptarmigan Suite is also available for hire as an out of school venue for CPD or In-Service Training. Facilities include overhead projector, PA system and catering facilities for lunch, tea, coffees etc.
Inter-Schools Ski Race
This was the first year of the Inter Schools Ski Race and 60 racers came along to make the day memorable. The schools taking part were Paisley Grammar, Gryffe High School, Clydebank High, Glennifer High, Park Mains, St. Columba’s Kilmacolm, Boclair Academy, Our Lady & St. Patrick’s, Hamilton College, Lenzie Academy, Hermitage Academy, Mearns Castle High School, St. Ninian’s (Giffnock), St. Ninian’s (Kirkintilloch), Bearsden Academy, Glasgow Academy.
There was almost an equal split of seasoned racers and novices letting us run two separate competitions. The highlight of the day was the team event where we had not only a mix of abilities but also the teams consisted of kids from different schools getting together for the first time and racing as a team. Great fun for the racers and the watching parents and staff alike. Thanks go to everyone who took part, parents, teachers, helpers on the day, North Glasgow College and a particular thank you to Clydebank High and Mrs Eileen Cummings who came up with the idea in the first place and donated the Clydebank High shield for the winning school
