Celebration of Richard Wilson's life - 28th August 2015
Dear All,
We intend to convene a gathering to celebrate Richard’s life and work - you are most cordially invited. The proposed date is Friday 28th August 2015 - please pencil that in and if most people can make it, we’ll stick to that - it would be held at 5.00pm on in the Hunterian Zoology Museum, Graham Kerr Building, University of Glasgow, University Avenue, Glasgow, G12 8QQ, and afterwards at a local hostelry chosen by popular acclaim on the night. There will be drinks and nibbles from 5pm, and we are endeavouring to find a way to provide sandwiches too, if funding allows.
If you plan to come along, do please email me by 21st August, letting me know if you intend to bring anyone along with you. You’ll find my mobile no. below for any urgent communications on the day.
We plan to have a) anecdotes and stories (not TOO long!) - feel free to bring something and we’ll give everyone an opportunity to say something should they wish to - this will be very informal and respectful irreverence is to be encouraged...; b) slideshow - if you have any photographs you feel would make a good backdrop to the festivities, please do send them to me by 21st August and we can project them.
If you have any other ideas about things we should do to commemorate our friend and colleague, please do feel free to suggest. There was a suggestion about a memorial book - do send any written anecdotes/stories/observations/photos/cartoons and if that seems like a fun thing to do, we’ll do it!
We look forward to seeing you on the 28th if you can make it.

p.s. for the cricketers - we are thinking of having an evening outing perhaps a few weeks later so we can gloat overAustralia’s shortcomings…. Kevin will advise in due course.
